California Braces For Scorching Heat Wave

California braces for scorching heat wave

Triple-digit temperatures expected in Bay Area, Central Valley

Record-breaking heat possible in some areas

A sweltering heat wave is gripping California starting Tuesday, with highs set to reach the upper 90s in parts of the Bay Area and even in the triple digits in the Central Valley.

The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning for much of the state, including the Bay Area, Central Valley, and Southern California.

The heat wave is expected to last through the end of the week, with temperatures peaking on Wednesday and Thursday.

The intense early-season heat wave has already set several records. On Tuesday, Ukiah, California, reached 108 degrees Fahrenheit, the highest temperature ever recorded in the city in July.

Experts are urging Californians to take precautions to stay safe during the heat wave. This includes drinking plenty of fluids, staying in air-conditioned areas, and avoiding strenuous activity during the hottest part of the day.
