England edge Serbia in Euro 2024 opener
Three Lions secure narrow 1-0 victory in Group C
England got their Euro 2024 campaign off to a winning start with a narrow 1-0 victory over Serbia in their Group C opener on Saturday.
The Three Lions were far from their best but managed to secure all three points thanks to a first-half goal from Harry Kane. The England captain converted a penalty in the 22nd minute after Bukayo Saka was fouled in the box.
Serbia had their chances to equalize but could not find a way past England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford. The closest they came was in the second half when Aleksandar Mitrović's header hit the crossbar.
The win gives England a great start to their Euro 2024 campaign. They will now face Scotland in their next match on Tuesday, while Serbia will take on the Czech Republic.
