Courtauld Secures Funding For New Arts Hub

The Courtauld Institute of Art secures funding for new arts hub

The Manton Foundation donates £12 million to support the project

The Courtauld Institute of Art in London has announced that it has secured funding for a new arts hub. The Manton Foundation has donated £12 million to support the project.

The new arts hub will be called the Manton Centre for British Art and will be located in Somerset House. It will provide a new home for the Courtauld's collection of British art, which includes works by JMW Turner, John Constable, and Lucian Freud.

The new center will also house a research center, a library, and a public program space. It is expected to open in 2025.

The Courtauld is one of the world's leading centers for the study of art history. It was founded in 1932 and is home to a collection of over 60,000 works of art. The new arts hub will provide a much-needed space for the Courtauld to display its collection and conduct research.

The Manton Foundation is a charitable trust that supports the arts, education, and medical research. The foundation was established in 1987 by Sir Harold Manton, a British businessman and philanthropist.
