Haaland and Alvarez on target as City ease to victory
Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez scored as Manchester City eased to a 4-0 win at Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Saturday.
Haaland opened the scoring in the 12th minute with a clinical finish from close range. Alvarez doubled City's lead in the 23rd minute with a fine header from a Kevin De Bruyne cross.
City continued to dominate after the break and Haaland added his second goal in the 58th minute with a powerful shot from the edge of the area. Alvarez completed the scoring in the 87th minute with a tap-in from a Riyad Mahrez cross.
The win keeps City top of the Premier League table, two points clear of Arsenal.
De Bruyne delivers another masterclass
Kevin De Bruyne was once again the driving force behind City's victory. The Belgian playmaker created both of Haaland's goals and was a constant threat to the Forest defence.
De Bruyne's performance was a reminder of his importance to City. The 31-year-old is one of the best midfielders in the world and is a key part of Guardiola's team.
Forest outclassed by City
Nottingham Forest were outclassed by Manchester City on Saturday. The newly-promoted side were unable to cope with City's quality and were well beaten in the end.
Forest manager Steve Cooper will be disappointed with his team's performance. However, there is no shame in losing to Manchester City, who are one of the best teams in the world.
