Lakers Fall to 0-2 in Las Vegas Summer League

Despite Ball's Triple-Double, Denver's Pressure Proves Too Much

Los Angeles Lakers suffer their second loss in Las Vegas as Denver's suffocating defense leads to another defeat

The Los Angeles Lakers dropped to 0-2 in the Las Vegas Summer League after a 93-86 loss to the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday night.

Despite a triple-double from Lonzo Ball (11 points, 11 rebounds, 11 assists), the Lakers were unable to overcome Denver's relentless pressure and stingy defense.

"They just made it tough for us to get into a rhythm," said Lakers coach John Lucas.

The Lakers fell behind early and trailed by as many as 15 points in the first half. They rallied to tie the game in the second half, but Denver pulled away late to secure the victory.

In addition to Ball's triple-double, Kyle Kuzma scored 22 points and Ivica Zubac added 14 points and 11 rebounds for the Lakers.

The Lakers will face the Boston Celtics on Friday in their final game of the Las Vegas Summer League.
